Rescued and Blessed

Hello.  I’m Marley, the dog, and my human mom is letting me write this week’s entry.  I’m a Morkie, which is part Maltese and part Yorkie. My mom rescued me when some people found me walking alone on the streets in Fresno, California.  My mom saw my picture and said she wanted me (because I’m so adorable, she says) and then I got to take an airplane ride to Ohio.  That was about five years ago, and very exciting.  I like living in Ohio, but as a “California Girl”, I really don’t care for the cold snow here in the wintertime.  But I sure do love my mom and I am so thankful for her.  I like to be with her all the time, living my best life, and I don’t even like it when she just goes away for dinner without me!

Right now, I’m living with my mom in a nice Retirement community, and it is great!  Almost everyone here stops and rubs my ears and even gives me kisses when they see us in the hallways.  I love all that attention!  I’m wagging my tail in happiness almost all the time!  Some people say that they used to have a dog, too, a long time ago.  I think I must remind them of those happy days.  I’m happy that I make them happy.  More than that, my mom says I am very blessed!  She says there are many dogs that don’t have the wonderful life I’m enjoying.  I feel sorry for those dogs who don’t have a family that loves them and takes good care of them.  I guess mom is right; I really am blessed!

It’s funny but my mom says she is rescued and blessed, too.  She tells me that Jesus rescued her and blesses her each day.  She says Jesus has forgiven her of all the bad things she has ever done and loves her just as if she has never done anything wrong.  God, the Father in heaven, not only has forgiven my mom, but He has forgotten anything wrong she has ever done.  Wow!  How wonderful is that!  God never leaves His people and takes wonderful care of those that love Him.  If you don’t know the love of Jesus, I hope you’ll talk to someone that can explain what the Bible teaches.  You can be rescued and blessed, too.  My mom says it’s a wonderful life to be a Christian and to look forward to living in Heaven one day.  I don’t know for sure, but I sure hope dogs get to go to Heaven, too.

Thank you, Jim and Donna, for giving mom the idea of letting me write in her blog, pamsgrapevine.com.  She said that was a great idea!  If anyone would like to read some previous entries, that would be great, too.

Marley, you most certainly are blessed to have a loving, kind, and caring Mommy. Thank you for taking time away from all your retirement community fans to share your thoughts with me and others.
